John is the official photographer, documenter, and web designer for Vinewoods Forge.

John works primarily as an automation and process controls engineer, mostly designing software. In his late 60’s, John has been a photographer since the age of 11 starting with a Kodak Pony 135 C and shooting Ektachrome slide film. However, he never pursued a professional career or presented as an artist until the 2000’s after two of his daughters also wanted to take up photography and he made the switch to digital photography. He supplied them both with cameras and continues to support them in their art. Now his oldest grandson is also an amateur photographer.

John has 4 daughters and 8 grandchildren and lives with his wife Anna in southern Chester County.

John has shot with Ricoh, Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic, Fuji, Sony and more. His current kit is “micro four thirds” based: using cameras and lenses from Olympus and Panasonic. He is basically system-agnostic and shoots what suits him: currently cameras and lenses that are smaller and, more importantly, lighter. This makes for a more compact and easily handled system when shooting on location.

He is on-again, off-again as a exhibiting artist, but very much loves taking photos including the dramatic work at Vinewoods Forge.

John styles his work, which is primarily based on “urbex” themes, as “Entropic Remnants Photography”. His work can be viewed on his main website as well as his Flickr and YouTube sites. Here are links to his sites:
